California - Northern

I think I will go for it. If you let us know before you place your order I will tell you for sure but right now I am thinking Why Not? Do you know (or anyone else) if they ship Bantams with LF?
Ok, will do. I don't see anything saying they don't ship bantams with LF so far.

None of mine for that same pen yours came from have crowed yet. They may not get as much light where I have them as yours are getting. They are about 7 weeks now so I should hear crowing soon. I need to sort the boys from the girls and decide who I am keeping and who is going in the freezer. I also have a younger group about ready to move to that pen that is all Jumbos and Goldens.

BTW.....I might be interested in helping you round out that order with Sand Hill too..... I am in Paradise, so not too far away. Let me know when you decide. I know you have to send payment when you place the order...

Only the one brown is crowing, and I caught him in the early stages of scalping the other male. Luckily, though he has a nice bald spot, he hadn't been at it long enough for there to be a wound. Keeping a close eye on the A&Ms for similar behavior.

Ok, when I decide for sure what I want from them, I'll check with you two here. As far as payment, I'd probably just pay for it and get the money when chicks arrived to hand over. I'd rather be a middle-man for chicks than for money, and if anyone had something come up and couldn't get/take the chicks I could just keep or sell them.

We're near Arcata, so no doubt about being northern. I'd say Santa Cruz is the line. I think of Salinas, Monterey, Fresno, Modesto etc as central. San Louis Obispo and south... southern. BTW, we just got 2.5 inches of rain in 24 hours and my hens ignored their wet backs!

I bet I'm more northern than you (I'm in Crescent City)

Those that worm with Valbazen orally, or with enough of it in water are very unlikely to have problems like that. Unfortunately, and I don't know when/where it started, many people read that giving 3cc's Safeguard in a gallon of water was an acceptable way to de-worm.

Let's see, I have 8 pullets. Unless it's hot, their total consumption from waterers is about 6 cups a day.

If I were to mix up 1/2 gallon using 1.5 cc ....

1.5 cc divided by 8 pullets = .1875 cc per pullet IF each pullet drinks one cup (and no less) of the water and IF the fenbendazole is equally distributed in the water.

That's less than the recommended dosage. A shame given the general safety of fenbendazole. And underdosing is one of the reasons for resistant parasites. Enough resistant parasites and it won't matter if the dosing is corrected.
