Chickens drink this according to a vet book I read:
Non laying adults - 5.5% of their body weight per day
Laying hens - 13.6% of their body weight per day
Growing chicks - 18-20% of their body weight per day

Given the above it would be impossible to de-worm all without under medicating some and over medicating others. The only way I could see it working would be to put all chicks in one pen, laying hens in another and non-layers in a third. The figure out the total weight of each group, figure out how much they'll drink in a day and do this math:

Weight of flock in pounds, divide by 2.2, times 50, divide by 100. The answer to that will be the amount of Safeguard needed for the amount of water they will drink in one day.

With so few chickens, how about individual doses in mouth with a syringe (of course without the needle) I always keep a feeder syringe on hand. They work great!

Oh and just make sure you don't dose straight down the middle, slowly down one side of the mouth

Individual oral dosing based on each bird's weight is the only way to be 100% sure you have wormed your birds effectively. The problem is that Safeguard requires multiple days of dosing to get most capillary worms and gapeworms.

Years ago someone said that putting 3ml of Safeguard in one gallon water was a good, effective way to worm. Not sure why people didn't question it way back then.

I can show you studies that say it's an ineffective wormer as well as necropsy pictures and posts from people that have lost birds they had treated with ivermectin.

Imsure that hahas happened and those studies exist aa with anything that isn't technically labeled for "poultry" I probably shouldnt have said anything, because not all people on this forum would/could or even feel comfortable administering off labeled producta.....so to those......Don't try this at home!! Lol

Most worming products are "off label" in poultry, but that doesn't mean that it's illegal to use them, one is just supposed to consult with a vet.
