My pictures don't compare to Nikon's but I thought I'd share.

Barnevelder pullet stretching.

I'm very pleased with this years Barnevelder pullets. Their type and lacing are improving. I noticed some of the pullets have longer tails than my older hens. This pullet actually has her tail down in this picture, but it shows off her type well.

A younger pullet, but she is looking good.

Cross breed pullet. Multiple generation olive egger crossed to a barnevelder. She's pretty to look at and should be a good layer.

So cute! I love Barnevelders. Wish I had room for more chickens...never enough room for all the chickens I want...

it's hard to beat BCollie and Nikons pics, but I think you're up there with these beautiful shots! Love your Barnies!!
So, I think I go to the coop about 5 times a day looking for my OE's and Marans to start laying. The suspense is just too much!!
Anyone else waiting for first eggs?

You guys are too nice. I really need to get some baby chick pictures while they're still cute and fuzzy, and spam you guys!!

Chrissyr, I'm waiting for eggs from a Crested Cream Legbar from Jeff, and a Black Copper Marans that I got at the Red Bluff show on April 29th I think it was?
It's agonizing! I'm constantly checking the nest box, and the ground all around the chicken yard. In bushes, etc. because I know they don't always lay their first egg in the nest box. Especially these two who sleep in the run, not the coop. I don't know which eggs I'm more excited for, the CCL or the BCM. Blue eggs, or dark dark brown eggs? (At least, we are really hoping they are dark dark brown as we spent $30 on two chicks, ended up with only one girl...so she's a $30 pullet! She better lay some nice dark brown eggs!)
She's been looking like she's at point of lay for a long time now. Squats once in a while, has a super red face with large comb and wattles...but no eggs.
This was her on a month and a half ago!! Crazy pullet needs to give us some eggs! She sure is gorgeous though. I'm not really a fan of black birds but I just adore this little girl, she's a looker!
I've been told she may be show quality. :)

And here's another picture of her from AUGUST 29th. Look how long she's been looking like she's at POL!
