A grub of some type, lol.

Sorry, no clue what it might be. Stick it in a jar and see what it turns into?

I already flushed it but should have done the jar thing.

That is a type of soil grub. It could be a crane fly larvae too.

Do you see a bunch of crane fly's in the spring? The larvae is fairly destructive to lawns.

I've seen those thing ba flyingn around but this thing looked more fat and pudgy than some in the pics I googled.
I have BSF , but this was much fatter and the butt more wide than the head(must've been a female, )
And the end just kind of blunted off with a little brown tip. At first I though maybe the rear got burnt , but no.
Our grass has not seemed to have too many issues on our lawns. My pastures aren't doing well but I think I need better soil over there

I you have a bunch of those grubs out there eating the roots of the pasture grass, then the grass will look bad.

I have used beneficial nematodes to get rid of cut worm larvae. It works very well for that but might be very expensive for a pasture.

Eric isn't home now to give me a name for it but they are trees pests. We see them quite often when we peel the bark off the fire wood. If you start to see areas of sawdust in your wood stack they are the ones marking it. They are so creepy ugly!
