lots of fun last night. maybe Brown Red Ameraucana in my car port brooder. about 3am large boom. power line down. luckily it woke me and i got the generator going.
had a ton more rain today from around 10-2 still raining though not the deluge we had.
I dug some bamboo earlier today at a few friends for my grove.
I have a few kinds out there now including
Black , Black Stripe and Henon ( all three of these are in the black bamboo family Phyllostachys Nigra. ) black is shorter narrower black canes. Black Stripe is a form of Henon these last too are considered timber bamboo get tall and have nice size dense canes . great for coop building and construction.
The last one I got today was another Phyllostachys . its Phyllostachys Vivax " Huangwenzhu its another timber variety which can get 70 ft with 5" wide canes. not as good of wood as the Henon or black Stripe but very pretty. I probably won't plant this one yet till I decide where to put it. I have pretty good area for my grove. Its real wet on the bottom and will have goats so it won't run where its too wet. plus the goats would get anything down there. on the west and north side its to dry and won't spread where its not irrigated there.
I have a few clumping clumping kinds i will probably divide and plant in the grove too.
