Muscovy #3, #4, & #5 are out and drying.
I'm going to wait a bit before candling the other 3.
No pips or rocking yet but they'd be gravy.
I am ecstatic with the 5 so far.
Be warned, chicken people, these wee ones are just as addictive.

My husband's been trying to get me to try hatching ducks and geese...Mostly for vineyard clean up, then Christmas dinner!

My DH always says I have to many birds but as soon as they hatch he's just as excited as the kids are lol and just as lack luster about them as they go thru the awkward teenager stage which is when they're developing their "personalities" and pecking order. I love the whole process from egg to first squawk/quack/honk and I'm so happy that I can indulge in this hobby where I live with the only restrictions being how much I can handle =)

Had a friend over who hasn't seen mine since they were in the brooder. She was fascinated by how much they'd grown and how distinct their personalities are. Also, the fact that my cockerel's crow ends with a sad "bagpipe deflating" noise, LOL! I kinda find it adorable.
