The chick does not have wattles. Cuckoo marans cockerel would have a lighter color.

Marans have big combs even as pullets. The wattles give them away and will go big and pink if they are a boy

Good to know. I just got some Marans and noticed the combs got worried they are roosters. I'll wait it out.

I'm still not believing mine isn't a cockerel, but they are only about 7-8 weeks so I'm still waiting it out

Any experienced "Cluckers" in Solano County, CA?? I am a Noob in Vacaville, CA and starting down this rabbit hole and would like to pick the brain of someone that has been doing this for a while.
