I wish it would cool off here at night. We are probably only getting down to the high 70s - which, at the end of summer will seem downright chilly!

107 here is Stockton Friday and sat. Today 97. Cooling off faster tonight. We have misters, redwood trees, pans of water. They survived.

Cherries will be fine. Pits are ground up. Mine eat pumbs with now problem! Pits are much bigger in plums than cherries

Hi all, getting ready to move to Ireland in August & I need to regime my last 3 chickens. One is a Golden Laced Wyandotte who is 5, no longer laying but gorgeous & sweet. I also have a 10 month old hen, half splash bantam Orp and half jubilee Orp. She goes broody a lot if anyone needs a broody. Finally I have a 2 month-old cockerel. He is half black Orp and half partridge Orp. Thought I'd ask here first in case anyone can take them! Here are some pics:

Anyone raising Barred Holland's? Need a good rooster?
I had a good hatch with some shipped eggs from a private breeder, not hatchery stock, and have about six more roosters than I plan to keep. They are 10 weeks old.
They are on the Livestock Conservancy's list of critically endangered breeds.
I'm in Tuolumne county, but willing to drive a bit if someone really is interested in the breed.
