How is your hatch going? Can't recall if you set thurs, friday or saturday?

Quote: Yes, I should have extras. Someone from the north coast was interested too thought. I will let you know.

Mine are from James Meeks. He started the Basque Hen Thread.

I set on Saturday, so hatch day is Friday for me. 13 EO Basque hen eggs are in lockdown, 12 looked good. I will be happy if I get 10 but you never know. The incubator and hatch-er have been rock steady and the humidity is where I want it.

I have 4 cream legbar eggs still going in the incubator(old style Genesis 1588) It looks too empty, so I need to get more eggs for it. Should have some soon

Where is that incubators anonymous thread....

My first chick just hatched! It's a Cream Legbar. Very exciting. Two swedish's have pipped but not much progress in the last 5-6 hours. They are pipping so low, I wonder if I put the eggs the wrong way...

That is a tough one with the flower chickens. You will have to decide it you want to try getting them on their side.

This is what I would do if you try to help them:

Get a paper towel and wet it with warm water and toss in(not on the eggs) as soon as you open the lid. You can also spray some warm water in there from a clean mister bottle. Quickly and calmly help them and then get the lid closed.

I would wait though--I just don't know how long.

thanks, yeah, I figure i'll give them a couple more hours and then just check right before bed...

Hi Jeff,

I saw your post on the Easter Hatch thread. Good job on helping the wrong end pipper. Someone there said to wait 24 hours and it sounds like you did.

Congratulations on the hatch

How many made it to lock down and how many hatched? Are they still hatching?

Ron

On the hatch!

I am at work today, but I checked at 1:00 and my youngest daughter said two were zipping and she saw two with pips. I should come home to some serious hatching.

Happy Easter to all of you

or happy chocolate Bunny day

My Easter hatch is finished. 11 of 15 set or 11 or 13 developed have hatched. This is really good for shipped eggs. It seems I have a good mail route for shipped eggs but not for shipped chicks. Oh well.

Pictures of EO Marraduna(Basque Hens) chicks:

I really like this one. Poses for the camera:

Kind of a group shot. The poser hogs the camera, but so cute:

After the photo session they are snuggling up under the ecoglow:

Four Cream Legbar eggs need to go into the hatcher today Woo Hoo!

My Easter Hatch is done also. 10 out of 13 silkie eggs hatched. These eggs were bought from Sheri Minkner up in Lincoln. They were from her Blue/Black/Splash pens. I'm both surprised and pleased at the variety of colors they produced. Looks like some splashes, blues and possibly a buff and a couple of partridges.

Here are my babies as of yesterday -so sweepy:
