Ok, the quail have gone home with their new family. She's on BYC so maybe she'll post some pictures! They're going to be well taken care of!

The Spanish chicks are doing good. Not having the heat didn't seem to affect them at all. They were still running around, eating and drinking when we found the Ecoglow off. Now they have a heat bulb on them so I don't have to worry! (thanks almost-sister-in-law!) Phew, that was close!

I put dirt in their brooder today so they can start getting accustomed to our soil before they go outside foraging (and while still on medicated feed.) They're pecking through it like mad men.

Going to the feed store now to pick up some items for my chicken's medicine box (Duramycin and Corid!) Hope everyone's enjoying their Sunday morning!

I'm in Shingle Springs now, my last house was in Cedar Grove at 3400 ft. There is quite the difference in weather between the two. I'm enjoying not living in the snow anymore. Nothing like waking up to a f............ winter wonderland when you have to shovel to go to work

Quote: On the Ameraucana thread a couple from Hawaii went through the Cocci problem. They had been giving their chicks some sod but the new chicks were "special" so they did not give them the sod. They realized that was a mistake when the chicks got sick.

Try getting them some sod from your yard with roots and all.

Good idea. I read to do that somewhere and thought it couldn't hurt!

Amy Beth (I always want to call you Zoo!) - The feed store lady didn't know so I called a vet in Oakland called The Chicken Doctor and he said yes you can mix Corid and Duramycin. I don't know who this get is though; I found him on google.
