This is the victory lap. They do it everytime. In 15 minutes I have seen Pip mate 5 times before. Crazy!

OK, I posted this on the August swap thread, but I need to share my pain a little more here. I cant believe I did this (


OMG.. I am such an idiot. I accidental unplugged the incubator heater instead of the turner last night on one of the bators... ALLL my swap eggs except the white eggs I put under a broody last night... All the keets from Mary Ruth, all the eggs that were under the broody, All my silkie eggs I bought that got shipped to the wrong address and DH had to get up at 6 AM for 5 days to try and get from the post office... All the new blood marans I got from sewandgrow at the party, and the quail eggs that I was trying to keep from turning before i moved them this morning.

I'm a mass chick killer . DH keeps asking me if I'm sure I got all the keets, he is so sad.

I was thinking the same thing. Every few weeks just take your girls for a, uh, .... Conjugal visit and the. You can hatch to your hearts content.

don't lose hope. If it was just overnight and you caught it in the morning, they may be totally fine!! I lost power to my incubator one hatch for 15 hours. I had a normal hatch even though I thought they would all be dead.

Thanks! I'm slightly horrified by how randy our male Pekin is, Pip. But he hasn't murdered any of our ladies yet so I am surviving it. haha I was assured that after the first year they start to mellow on that a bit. Hormones and all. Ducks don't really have a 'season' - it's year round. I am not looking forward to my geese going into mating season- I hear the gander is quite mean during that time rofl. BUT it's seasonal.
