California - Northern

Ok now I'm confused. The combs aren't blue anymore!! I can't see any signs of blue at all?!? What does that mean? Guess I'm on hold for doing anything. :)
Jeff,

I've seen that in my roos and to a lesser degree with the girls (you have to look close). It seems to be tied to stress (heat, being low man on the totem pole, etc). I saw it and was concerned, but the next day they looked normal. I'd just keep an eye on them and make sure it doesn't develop into pox or something (watch for scabs).

Ok, now I noticed it this morning on a couple more of my roosters. Any ideas?
Hi Jeff,

I also found this:

MANAGEMENT MISTAKES
Out of feed Nervous flock, decreased feed consumption
Out of water Blue combs, birds gathered around waterers

Maybe the auto water system needs some attention?

Hi, Welcome!! I just found out a few weeks ago and haven't been yet. there is a poultry and small animal exchange in Orangevale. on sats 9-12 thru sept 8. I usually go to the one in Roseville. I live in Lincoln so I Orangevale one is a little further, so it hasn't been that easy to get up and go to it. tina :)

HI Everyone! I am from N. California! Near Sacramento!
I was wondering if any of you knew where I could find juvenile American buff geese at? I am hoping to add a few to our little farm.
Thanks for any help!!
here is the quote i was looking for, for the above reply I posted to. I fit reply instead of quote. I have been cleaning chicken coop all morning.

Well I went out this morning to clean the chicken coop. and was taking a break from the smell and was going to take Ms Suzy out for a walk. We left a couple large peices of ply board in the run way. During day shade for outside and then at evening a table to from. well i guess sometime i board went down and one of my Easter Eggers was under it. I found her this morning when i went to put up the boards. so now I came up with a idea for hubby to do. We have cinder blocks all over the place, send him to HD and get some thicker ply board and make a small table. they can eat off of and enough room they can fit under if they want. :(

Just another one of Copper. My mil lives loves loves how pretty he is- why can't he have feathery feet darn it all???

Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.

Odd, but read this article and maybe it will ease your mind a little.

Lynda, this might explain your hens pale, shrunken comb also.

After the first week back to school, we're all a little tired around here.) I keep watching her, but have stopped worrying that it's anything contagious and her plumbing seems to be in working order, so.... I guess she's OK.

Greetings to egg-lady and amyfamily. It's so great to meet new people. Glad you joined the thread. Very sorry about your EE, egg-lady. They have such quirky personalities and are a favorite of mine.

Amy Beth, Copper is looking awesome! Between the green/black tail and the copper neck, he must be gorgeous in the sunlight! And the geese! Before and after, it's like magic! Beautiful!
