Ahh, LOL, I just figured they spelled it wrong (see lots of spelling errors on forums!)

I should have jumped to the PITA, that's my DH's favorite phrase, he is a retired teacher and always said he picked someone every year to be his PITA. Even now, adults will run up to us in stores and say, "Mr....., remember me? I was your PITA!". They are very proud of that designation.

Thought I would chime in here on bees, since I have them. I'm still learning, as I've only had them since this spring. It really doesn't make a difference whether you are rural like me, or in the city. Bees can fly 3 miles to collect pollen. They are not aggressive like people think - I was surprised by them too. They are not like other bees such as wasps or yellowjackets. I see them in my garden - they are busy gathering pollen and I have not been stung while wandering my property.

Now when you mess with their hive, they can get defensive (especially when it's hot - they get cranky in the heat) because they are trying to protect their home. But this happens right by the hive, they are not flying off to attack somebody. This is why you smoke them, it calms them - they think it's a fire and they are eating honey in preparation to have to leave the hive. I was stung once while tending to the hive, and it was my fault as I was messing with their feeder without my beesuit on.

We got our bees more for pollination than honey - our fruit trees just aren't getting pollinated well. A friend of ours had bees and I saw how much his fruit trees exploded in fruit. So that convinced us to give it a try.

I did a side by side of my duck eggs vs an organic store bought egg. Here it is. Duck always on left.

Ok except here. The white is the duck egg.

Now the duck egg always on left.

We did add salt and pepper to both before cooking. :) The duck egg tastes best. The organic chicken egg tasted less eggy and a little fridge/stale like.

Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.

I'm getting Blue Andalusians to replace the Iowa Blues that they couldn't send. I'm getting Silver Campine because I wanted a couple of birds to add genetic diversity to the ones I had. I'm getting a double order of White Leghorns (the ones I ordered and to replace the Tomaru that they couldn't send). I wanted to end up with 2-3 leghorn girls for a breeding project.

So we'll see, all chicks are cute anyway.
