I might have some new blue egg layers at the end of October.

I did a side by side of my duck eggs vs an organic store bought egg. Here it is. Duck always on left.

We did add salt and pepper to both before cooking.

The duck egg tastes best. The organic chicken egg tasted less eggy and a little fridge/stale like.
Wow.....the egg from the store doesn't even look like an egg!

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen an egg scrambled so light. It looks more like scrambled egg whites. Of course, maybe I'm just used to my own home produced eggs. I do remember duck eggs being yellower when scrambled. It's that huge proportion of yolk to white. Of course, all that grazing makes the yolks nice and dark.

Enjoy!

I seen an egg do this once and the hen had an inner Infection we did not know about . also read up on the salmonila and e coli going around in eggs and chicks .
I for one would not eat it ,

Quote: Thanks! Had a second hatch and waiting on the four others...no pips though. I had expected to see some when I woke up. The temp had been low for a few days of the hatch as I didn't realize and one of my sons had changed the incubating temperature. Aargh! I need a locked room! :-) anyway this evening is official hatch time so we have time.

HI Tammy!

How are things in Oregon?

One of the reasons we have been told in recent years to not eat uncooked store eggs is because of the percentage of salmonila in those eggs. We are not supposed to eat cake and cookie dough for that reason too. It is sad.

Backyard and small farm eggs rarely have problems like that.
