California - Northern

Hello, y'all! I've lurked here a bit, haven't posted since we actually started keeping chickens, in middle March. We've got a bossy Silver Laced Wyandotte and a Black Cuckoo Marans, both of which are laying. We also have two Easter Eggers who have not yet reached Chicken Puberty.

We are in East Oakland, where we also keep bees.

We built a Chicken Bungalow out of 100 year old reclaimed redwood, and we think it's pretty stinkin' adorable.

Nice to "meet" everyone.

Nice to meet you Lisa and welcome to the forum and chickens. Would love to see pictures of your coop.....and of course your chickens!

Sorry you lost your chick. I currently have a batch of BBS, paint & white silkie eggs on an extended trip with the US Post Office. It's an episode of Lost, so I'm not expecting anything to hatch, if and when they do show up.

The PO called at 5:56am, my box of eggs have arrived. I think they were getting even by calling so early. They don't know my alarm goes off at 6:00 on days I work and I was awake already. Now I hope they haven't been kicking/dropping/shaking the box too much in it's 5 day trip from MI (I could have driven them myself).
