Yum, I make a great Caramel Pear Butter. I love to can pears, some lightly sweetened and some spiced. You really have to pick them while they are still firm, once they've fallen they get mealy in the middle. They have to be picked firm ripe and allowed to finish ripening off the tree.

I love shelves full of beautiful jars (and my birds love all the extras when I'm canning).

Oh sure! Thanks! My mil wants to can some. That's code for "Amy can some pears". I am really buried right now so I hope she can at least grab the fruit off the tree.

Buffy totally adopted the 3 babies!

The "big girl's" coop.

Buffy's area under the poop boards has chicken wire to keep the other girls away from her nest.

My daughter gave me a big Kiss this morning and was off to school.... Thirty minutes later I get a call from a police officer. My daughter had neen in a car accident... Never been so scared in my life.. I jump in my car " in my PJ's" raced to the accident .... She was a little banged up. The car is a mess...but she is fine THANK GOD! Her little face was so scared...just a reminder of how fast our world could change... I love my kids more then ANYTHING ! Grateful she will be fine...
