A couple of years ago, I tried growing Mexicola. The first good freeze took it out. The nurseyman I normally work with said they are just a novelty here and don't expect them to produce. There is a warm pocket it the County near the old Gold Hill Nursery, Graham's. They have a large mandarin crop and they grow avocado. I think all has to be right with the universe where you are....

Right Happy Chooks) so you can also find instructions and videos online.
Right. I don't use pectin in anything. I don't like the consistency of it. I just use fruit and sugar and cook it to it's gelling point.

Picked these guys up last night. They were intended for dog food but Drew wants to keep them to mow the pasture for a while...
Cool! I'm glad you rescued them!

Hate to burst the bubble but I didn't rescue them. I bought them to process them for dog food. My dogs are raw fed. :)

They were going to be processed this weekend but Drew wants to keep them to mow for a while so they will go to freezer camp at some other point in time.

I just got busted by my son's school. He asked that I call him in sick today so he can go to the Giants Parade in San Fran. So I called the school and a live person answered. Not only any live person, but a person I know socially. I told her my son was sick and she asked - point blank.... Is he going to the Parade? I hesitated and said "Yes" I am such a chicken.... She said it was okay because they are excusing the students because there really is nothing they can do because there are so many. She told me that so far the school is going to loose $5,000 today alone due to all the absences caused by people going to the parade. Apparently, the state no longer pays for sick days so they school is out $45 per day per student. I told her I'd be happy to pay the $45. She said the school would really appreciate that. Dang.... but I guess it is the right thing to do....

Sounds like something that would happen to me. My Youngest DD is 13. I think she has missed 5 days of school since Kindergarten. The School must love her. They really should give more awards and prizes for perfect attendance....

When I was in 5th grade, a friend of mine got an award for never missing school since KINDERGARTEN! That is 6 years of NEVER missing a class!
