I have a few Olive Egger / Barnie eggs available if anyone wants em. I have 6 ready to ship today. FREE. Just pay for shipping. The only thing I ask in return is photos!!! I am dying to see how these chicks turn out. I have my first batch hatching in a couple of days.

Quote: The girls are staying here, but we can work out some offspring in the spring. 2 of them (including my beautiful blue OE) are molting right now and my rooster is molting too.
Roosters roosters and more roosters. I did a tally this morning and of the 10 Swede chicks, 2 are girls. Urg..... My favs keep going to the other side. My ultimate fav is still a girl. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, me too. I've hatched a TON of cockerels this year.
Hey, I just saw that I reached 1000 posts...LOL. Took me awhile to get there, LOL. Gotta renew my Golden feather membership too.

Congrats! One of the boys you gave me is trying out his crow. So funny!

PS They are so funny when they start to crow and it sure sounds like a squeaky toy or a cat with it's tail stepped on.

Ok for all you advanced breeders - maybe you can help me see the results of this? I have Buff Orps and I have 1 pretty pair of little bantam blue laced wyandotte. I will have one Buff Orp and one Bantam BLW rooster of each to cover my flock. If my banty decides to mate with any of my Buff Orp girls- their offspring...will I be able to see right as chicks if they are mixed or not? Also any ideas on what the feathering might look like? I will eventually have a small breeding pen to manage this but a big coop comes first so I'd like to hope that only having 2 roosters will reduce my chances of barnyard mixes and my hope is that I will see right away as chicks if they are mixes- I can give them away later to keep my flock straight. (unless they are really pretty then I can add a couple to my egg laying flock lol)

I just wanted to make sure nobody wanted Mr. Puff again. If I don't hear from anyone today, I'll offer him on Craigslist tomorrow. He is free to any BYC member (Nor-Cal) that would like to give him a good home.

He is a perfectly healthy, splash silkie rooster....7 1/2 months old. He doesn't crow much at all and when he does it is short...........Leo Pierre (my other splash silkie rooster) has the dominant crow. But it's Mr. Puff that is always jumping on the girls.

He has a mulberry, single comb so he is pet/breeder quality. (It's a recessive trait) He is a little shy, but a real sweetie!

Anyway, let me know........
