I have heard that it can be hard to get show quality(SOP) Roosters from some breeders. It is often easy to get culls.Jussst in case something happens to my Buff Orp rooster- does anyone else here keep them? If something happens to him before I get a hatch from my big hens- I won't have a rooster to cover them to give me offspring. My 4 big ones are of a different line than my 3 younger pullets and so far I am really loving those 4 big ones. Seems like they are extra big and fluffier than the younger ones. I want to get at least ONE hatch from them. Do breeders generally have extra roosters to sell? I 'could' ask the breeder I get my Buffs from if she does. They are not listed on her site though. You can now only get chicks from her, not evening hatching eggs.I'm so sad! lol
It is always a relief to see the pips. Until I see a pip, I am worried that they won't hatch. No pips yet!Hatch day is tomorrow though.![]()
I love EEs...Fascinating. Easter Eggers came first, then Araucana and Ameracaunas. The 2 latter breeds were derived FROM Easter Eggers. Crazy!
