California - Northern

That reminds me of something that happened this am that made me LMAO. I have a bunch of 11 week old juvies in the pen and a swede juvie rooster let out a pathetic crow and and everyone retreated back into the coop. The roo just stood there dumfounded. I'm sure he was thinking Whaaaaaaatttt?
lol...
so I just drove by the house we are trying to buy.... Boy was it snowing. 8 minutes up the road 700 feet higher. Different world. the pic does not show how hard it was coming down.

OSSHHHH! That was a lot of posts.
Still moving the warehouse but back for the weekend so I thought id say hello to you lovely people.
Welcome newbies!
A few things to say
you people who like canned fish are disgusting! DH i crazy about it, and i harass him always. he particularly likes the smoked trout from tj's.
Amybeth gratz on the calendar image! its a fine photo, ill be happy to see it on my wall, what month? this will be the first calander I've bought in years.
I'm thinking good thoughts for the penn eggs and other chicks in waiting in incubators around nor cal.

Its been a bit of a sad time here. My 12 yr old cat Lhasa who has all the eye trouble dissapeared last week. No sign of her. have out signs rewards, checked the shelters and the chip company, nothing. She cant see really well because she was born with defective eyelids so if no one found her in over a week i'm sure she is gone :(. My other cats are still lsot without her, they were bottle babies and considered Lhasa mother and hate each other.

Still have a week more of moving the warehouse, then hopefully we will be caught up and I can be home more then 1 day a week again.
Hope everything is well with all of you!

Jason, where is the house? I have my old house in Cedar Grove (3400 ft), I'm guessing I have snow there? TG I'm in Shingle Springs now, I like being back below the snowline.

it is a Placerville address still like where I am now. we had snow here off and on to but did not stick. this one is also 3400 ft between Pleasant Valley and Sly Park Lake. I live in Pleasant Valley now. Drove past the house some as well and it stacked up pretty good at 4000. was going to get a free fish tank for the new chicks coming but could not see the addresses so going back tomorrow

so sorry to hear about your cat,

so chilly these last few mornings! i'm ever-thankful for the woodstove that i splurged on last year -- it's keeping the cats and i warm and cozy. but it's nice to be home & able to let the flock out of their coop, so the big girls will pick on the newcomers less -- and i snapped a few pictures yesterday morning:

the big girls checking out the frost!

amelia examining a tomato, once the big girls went out to free-range...

eleanor, who has become the boss of the younger flock

lucy, the new cream legbar

maggie, the new basque, who is getting picked on the most -- but she's hanging in there!

my little sitting area next to the coop -- as the leaves come off the oaks, it's getting sunnier!

me and ethel, motoring on by!
