She has it all good type. This is a real McCoy Heritage R I Red. She did not come from a feed store did she?

What line of Reds do you have?

Nice picture and another picture for you who are lurkers to this tread that want to know if you have the Real Rhode Island Reds or the so called very popular production reds or cherry eggers.

Quote: I figured they were breeding stock. They still make me hungry seeing them. You need to get your stock up. It is good news that Monster Clucker will have them too. You guys can share hatching eggs to keep from inbreeding.
Quote: This is the hatch for Papa Brooder. I think it is funny that he is shutting down his incubators and I will be locking down 30 for him tonight!
Ha ha, I know i know. I just need a break desperately from hatching anything. I want all the brooders empty at least for a month or so before starting to hatch for spring. I do have one more hatch coming on monday and then off they go! I had a request from someone for some christmas chicks so I guess I won't even really get a month off. It will be more like 2 weeks. :-( I'm just gonna hatch what she wants and then I am thinking I won't set until after xmas. I am literally looking forward to the break...never thought i would need a break but sure enough I do!
:-)

I took pictures today.
This is the EO Basque, Leela. She is a week older than the TJs chicks. The one in the back is a Partridge Penedesenca.

These are the two not broody EO Basque Hens.

this is the Broody Basque hen. I wonder how many eggs she could cover.

These are the Dorking Crosses. Look at the size of the breast in the second picture of them

I have to include the Heritage RIRs. The second picture has the most beautiful Beetle colored tail.

My BA is looking much better after the Molt.

This is a Silkie? From Shantih(Chiquita)

This is the Show girl from Shantih.

You have some gorgeous birds! I just love the color of your RIR's.

I know you've shown them before, but I can't remember, how many do you have? Rooster too? Are you going to start breeding so you can share your lovely birds?

Yes, you still have some going! I hope it will be as many as 15 or so. We will see. They are very dark shells.
I am just hoping for some would love 6 to 8 hens. To start the breeding program...That would be wonderful. super excited. If you are on Facebook you should join the group. Just got someone from Canada asking where to get some. I am really enjoying the site. I hope to get a bunch of picture's this weekend and post them on there as well.

I seriously have this on my calender to meet up with you in January. I simply can't wait to pick up some hatching eggs. The more I talk to my family about them (and my poor friends- chicken keeprs some but mostly not lol) the more excited I become. Thanksgiving...Christmas...then Mille Fleur Leghorns! haha

30 are in lockdown. One of the Silkie eggs looked funny but the rest looked very good.

I have read your post a couple of times but do not really see much of a break from hatching for you. You know someone else is going to want to hatch something.
