How is ugly mommas eggs looking??

fugly as i affectionately call her has 3 eggs under her and 2 are developing due to hatch next week saturday fingers crossed.

ok now i am questioning if i am any good at hatching eggs at all let alone the difficulty with the serama breed to begin with that said does anyone have like 6 mutt eggs that they are sure are fertile that i can test experiment with and see if i can hatch something normal out? you can have chicks back if i hatch any if you want them back....maybe serama are just harder for me?

I can gather up some eggs for you. My oegb's have had really good hatch rates for me. I might have a few silkie mutt eggs around here too, we have just been eating them lately since they aren't segregated right now. I also have japanese quail eggs that are pretty easy to hatch and don't take as long.
If you want - I can try to hatch some of your eggs and see if you are having a incubation issue or if it may be the eggs that just aren't doing good. I can trade some of my serama eggs with you if you want to try mine. Whatever you want to do, just let me know.
If you are coming up to Chaili's (can't remember if you were) you can meet me along the way somewhere or come by Santee where I live.

Hang in there on those eggs though, I have been surprised when I thought all was lost. I even hatched a baby in the trash can once by accident!

You should be able to see the air sac..which can be 1/2 to 1/3 of the egg. If your light is fairly strong (I use a mini mag flashlight) and the room is very dark, you should be able to see them moving! Very cool and a sure sign of life. Best of luck.

X2......I am praying for you too Bill!!! If you do all the incubation according to the text then one last thing you might want to look into your program is the diet of the parents. I have all my birds on purina nutri-blend green, wild bird seed, fruits, veggies and hard boil eggs.....I get good fertility and hatching rate in my program with my hencubator

I can save a few of my OEGB also. My last hatch was about 80% on those, even with a few broody issues. If we get together next week for cage making, maybe we can swap. Give me a few of your eggs to try, and I'll give you a few of mine. I don't have any Serama eggs right now, since my only layer is sitting.
