I got up early this morning to buy parts and to modify and beef up the mister I made 1.5 years ago. It went from this (one nozzle):

400

To this (3 nozzle):

I mount it to various tree branches where they like to hang out. Doing it this way is cheap, versatile and significantly lowers the ambient temperature.

That's a great design.

Yeah, lots of shade, some mud from my AM drip lines, and ice cold water. They did ok today. Just gotta get through Mon and Tuesday.

*fingers crossed*

Sussex, Phoenix, Barred Rock... All those breeds doing ok. But the Faverolle and the Easter Eggers are not taking it well. I have ice water, mud, frozen watermelon and shade for everyone but I think I'll dunk the worst one's feet in water until they drop body temp a bit.

Fallbrook, 103F at 9:30am. Haven't checked temp recently. Yikes :(

I'm home so I'm keeping an eye out for the neighbor's birds as well.

Mine are doing ok so far. Someones laying an egg. Its 103 out. I have a sprinkler going and a mister and lots of water. And a fan on the younger ones. Im going to prepair and at the end of the month make misters. One for the bottom of the hill. And one for thetop of the hill. Maybe one in the frint yard to help keep my kittens cool. Out of experience which works better and lasts longer. The pvc ones or that tubing stuff? Or are just plain old drip lines better...can i take the drip lines and just pop in mister nozzles? I like to over think things lik

And these are the adults...as crazy as usual. Idk how else to post the vids.

First link didn't work but the second one did. I love them all running to you! So cute! Mine are terrified of that snake mister thing so I might try putting misters up above their hiding spots, so in that case I would use black irrigation hose.

Along my back porch if I put misters up, they'll be along a beam, so in that case I'd use PVC. Chickens come first though! And right now my rooster is staring at me like I'm trying murder him (I wet the ground and APPARENTLY he's now terrified of mud. Great.).
