hello all
my names Dennis i used to have chickens horses goats and even a couple pigs. been a few years sense i have anything but a dog and a couple of cats. i am thinking of getting some more chickens again, why is a story for later, i live by Hemet on a couple of acres so i have plenty of room. i used to buy chicks from hi-line over in Nuevo but they are gone now. i'm not sure if i want to start chicks at this time of year, think it's going to be a wet and cold winter. so i think I'll see if i can find some people around me that want to get chickens and order a bunch from a hatchery in the spring

Well you have lots of time to build yourself a nice coop for your chickens come spring!

You are gonna love BYC, its a nice bunch of people here. Check back from time to time as we LA /IE areas chicekheads get together for meet-ups. We won't be having anymore till spring.....SO you might be able to get your chicks from someone at the meet-up rather than having them shipped. Just a thought....

Well, lets put it this way, if you were to let us all know you are looking for that many and what breeds you want, I am sure we all could come up with that many......there are alot of people that LOVE to hatch chicks. Once a date is set, a thread will start for it and then I will spread the news around to this thread and by emails to get the news out. Look for a date in late March early April.......What breeds have you been thinking about???

I like the rir and br I really liked the breeds I got from that hi-line hatchery they would lay a ton of large eggs. I would get 75 to 100 and sell them till i was down to the twenty to keep then get 75 to 100 more
