Have you ever made an entire room full of people, Roll their eyes?

Just got home from the meet up. I did bring home a blue egger EE (Slash Lavender and something???),and a Silver laced Wyandotte? I always forget to write this stuff down. I know those who were there will help remind me what are. I also rescued a Brahma hen, and a rescued Buff Orpington hen... I really do need to learn to say no...

I wish I had the time to hang out until more showed up but I had Grandpa duties.

ozexpat, sorry I missed you and I really wanted to talk, so maybe next time...
i could not find someone with hosspak on their shirt.

i had a pocket full of medication for you.

no worries

next time.

Thank you again to the nice woman at the meet-up in Norco. I'm sorry I didn't get your name but I have a question about the Brahma.

Has she ever has any problems with crop? While I was checking her out I noticed that it was huge and heavy.... She looks and seems to act fine, eating and drinking ok, but her crop moves in a different direction whenever she moves. I'm not used to Brahmas and she is a big girl. The family thought she was a turkey...

Again thank you, she is beautiful.

Thanks again to the wonderful lady who sold me the EE and the laced ? I should have wrote everything down but I didn't (Parteimers), You had said that the EE was an experiment between what 2 breeds, my wife and kids love her and all think the other laced hen is also gorgeous. But can you remind me what breed(s) she is. Again Thank you....

Sorry Hosspack I must have failed to warn you she has a huge crop. LOL. Yes this Brahma is part pig. I got her as an adult so I don't know how old she it actually and had worried about her crop when I got her. I treated her for sour crop once because I thought it was abnormal but after I did I was told by a more experience chicken keeper it is just her and she is a pig overloading it. They told me if she was acting normal and pooping normal then to leave her alone. :) She (we called her Lacey) is a very pretty girl but when you pick on Hubby's favorite girl he chooses you to get either take a time out at the meetup or find a new home. The Buff Orp we called Gitzy.

Did you noticed the similar color pattern Lacey and the EE have, even that EE I purchased is pretty big...

Yes, If I remember right is is a project color she has been working on. I think she used a sussex to get that coloring. I'll have to remember her name because I bought home a Splash Maran from her.

I wonder what I could of had with a hatch from my BCM and one of those splash????? Well you saw me thinking about it..lol

Cross your Black Copper Maran with a true Blue egger layer like an Ameraucana or Cream Legbar you will get Olive Eggers. I believe if you cross a Black and a Splash you will get blacks unless your black is splash factored. I could be wrong because Chicken genetics is new to me, but there are project threads you can research. I my "olive egger" who has not laid an egg yet so who knows??? She looks like a Black Copper Maran but is supposed to be a cross between a Cream Legbar and a Black Copper Maran.
