California-Southern

The first boxes of clothes that were given to me at @OffGridMAMA s meet-up arrived in the Philippines last Friday. The remainder will arrive at the end of this month.

Altogether I shipped more than 300lbs of clothing and shoes from generous BYCers.

A huge thank you my friends.

The clothes will be dispersed to The Holy Infant Orphanage in Bacolod and to needy locals.

I am unable to attend the meet up at the end of the month in Pamona as I will be attending my daughter's birthday in the Philippines and taking on the task of sorting 300+ juvenile chickens in order to come up with 120 that I will be donating to 30 needy families in September as part of the Chicken Mission detailed in my signature.

If there is someone willing to collect for me, it would be great if I could find a volunteer to save bags of clothes for me.

If I can get a response, then I would like to make a plea for more. I need mostly summer clothes in all sizes from infant to medium adult sizes as well as jeans and mens slacks in sizes up to 34, womens dresses in sizes up to medium and childrens, mens and women's shoes. Also underwear in all sizes and bras up to 34A-C. I can handle sheets and towels as well. Long sleaved tops and wind breaker style jackets are also good but please no true winter clothes. If they invariably end up in my collection I will give them to Goodwill as I need to get as much usable clothing in each box.

Clothes you consider worn may still have many many more wears in them. Stains that you thought may be indelable can be removed with persistance by someone who would value the shirt or trousers. Scuffs on a shoe are not a reason to hold back. These people literally have two or three shirts and pairs of shorts to their names.

If there is nobody that can volunteer to collect for me this time around, please consider "the Chicken Mission" when you do your next clothing cull when we can next meet up.

I will ship the clothes at my expense and will not sell nor profit from anything ever donated to the cause. I generally ship boxes each month as mu budget allows.

Cheers

Daaannnnnggerrrrrooouuuusssss..... My husband will NOT be happy if I come home from this meetup with more chicks (and neither will the Anaheim city authorities). Can I wear a badge that tells everyone not to let me leave with any???

I am the UN-official UN-enabler..I have a nice BIG/BOLD black magic marker! If you need intervention, I will be more than happy to mark your forehead with a big black NO! :yesss:

Trust me, it works! :lau :gig :lau

p.s. You did not mention a fluffy hens or a manly roo, so that is OK?

Well.... He might think a frizzle was funny. And I would LOVE to have a noble roo to keep the girls happy, but it would end badly for us or him. :(

Please bring the marker- I'm going to need it!

Hi, I need some help. I attended the last meet-up in Norco and bought some Cream Legbar eggs. I got three chicks from the hatch. Two black chicks with dots on their heads so I know they are boys. The other one is grey/brown chipmunk with a large white patch on the head and feathers on the legs. I don't know what other breed it was mixed with. I am hoping some one, maybe the egg seller (don't know his name), can tell me if this grey/brown is
auto-sexing, if so a boy or girl. Thanks.

I am placing an order for turkey hatching eggs with Valley of the Moon http://www.valleyofthemoonturkeys.com/products.html

The stock Bronze, Black, Auburn and White turkeys in both broad and medium breasted varieties. Egg prices are reasonable and I have hatched their poults with success. $2.10-$3.00

If anyone is interested to add to the order, we can split shipping. I would need to know by Thursday evening. Eggs will ship on Tues 5/20 and arrive thur or Friday. You would have to pick up in Anaheim eggs by 6pm friday - my flight leaves at 10pm from LAX - or I have a storage box outside my apt that fedex and usps uses -you could pick them up there any time after delivery. I will repack them for you in an appropriate size box.

Based on my last purchase, your share of shipping would be around $8 per doz

if you order 18, they ship 20

let me know.

prepay with paypal.

Who did you get the eggs from?

They don't look like any cream Legbar chicks I have seen. The chipmunck one could be a boy but should NOT have feathered shanks. I have never seen black ones ( I did hear of it but not sure how it fits in with the genetics). Again the head spot on the black ones if they are CL would suggest boys to me. Sorry!!!!
