Ok, I see it now. I am usually on my phone when I'm lurking around and was using the mobile interface. The smiley face isn't on there when you reply. However, I've switched to desktop format and it's there! Thanks!!

Yay! What did you get and where did you get them?
13 - I'm so jealous! LOL
@SewCluck
Do you bring them indoors for warmth? Chicks need a heat source for warmth that they can access or get away from if they are too hot. They are going to grow REALLY fast! Ameraucanas and/or Easter Eggers are timid birds so it's good you got more than one to pal around together.
Not tonight. Some are 1.5 weeks old and the oldest looks to be about 3 weeks old. We are brooding outside in the coop. In the brooder they have an MHP that they huddle under when they're cold.
Last night we brought the brooder into the house bc we wanted to make sure they were using the mhp. Now that we know they are they are sleeping in the coop, while in the brooder of course.
Edit to add:
It is hot here during the day.... have been in the 80's, but cool nights in the 50's.

Are you able to tell me if his dream will come true?
I lost a Welsummer a month or so ago. I want to replace her as well as add another hen to my backyard flock. So I want two new hens. Should I get chicks or pullets?
I'll either get two pullets to 20 week old hens from Dare2Dream or chicks from a somewhat local farm. I'm guessing it may take six or more months for chicks to be integrated while the older hens may go in after one to two months depending on age.
Ideas?
