Hello to all!
My family and I live in Anaheim (just 2 miles from the Mouse, hence the username) and are lucky enough to be zoned for "some" chickens. So, the wife a week or so ago decided to enroll all 4 kids in 4-H, with the 6-year old twins going into chickens, so off we go on a birding adventure!
Then, just to add a bit more fun, we were told at the OC Fair that smaller children should show only with smaller birds for showmanship. Guess now we will have two flocks, since the older kids really like the idea of Jersey Giants (they are now set on the idea of naming them after the "Jersey Shore" idiots). So when showing pictures of some docile bantams to the twins, they decided like the Nankin. At least I didn't show them an image of a dodo!
Anyways, just a quick post to say hi, and if anyone knows of any local breeders of Jersey Giants or Nankins (ok, local up to a few hundred miles), I'd love to hear about them. Off to keep searching the board and designing my brooder!
