Alice is my Biz partner, I think Uncle Sammy has gotten chicks from her.
Do you pick the eggs up daily? If they break the on accident, they will eat them.
Also parasites might be the cause. Have you wormed the?

I have to stand inside out just out of the pen to get close to getting them. They wait and as soon as an egg is laid it's like "Night of the Living Dead." They jump in pecking. They have never done this till recently and no other pen is doing it. They've even pushed out the bedding right after I fill the boxes, looking for eggs. It's ridiculous!

That does sound like a nutrition thing--Parasites make them do weird things too.

Give them some time then. Maybe mix some DE into the feed.

Just got word that my grandson is safe. He was on a date when that horrific tornado destroyed Moor, OK. He just doesn't have an apartment anymore. I hope no one else had family there.

Most of mine is bad there. We've been doing check ins all day. lots I haven't heard from, but I sent a text to one of my brothers and he said he was lucky and it barely rained at his place. I hate those things. I lost a house in the 89 quake here. My dad tried to talk be and my husband into moving me back to Oklahoma. No thank you! I remember those dark scary cellars as a little girl. And besides I always say I hate those things cause last time a house fell on my sister and I never got my ruby slippers back.

Seriously though, it's really scary. There was just a news thingy talking about the 11:00 report and it said "How you can help tornado victims in Oklahoma." They showed to girls sitting by what must have once been their house and crying. Tears you apart when you see the devastation and no they've lost everything.

I have Buff Laced Chicks right now, if anyone is interested. I have 2 Jaerhon hens too. They are cheep, as they have curls toes. But they are great egg layers, of med white eggs. Great forregers too! I have cream Legbars under a hen now and a BIG batch of Jearhons too....and maybe a gold cuckoo Marans in there too.....?

I am looking for German New Hampshires in CA. Had crappy luck with shipped chicks and eggs. $ or trades, PM and I can give you a run down of what I have.

...Marans that eat eggs?!?! We have never had any....how odd. Hens from Alice? She got rid of all her eggs eaters, but they were RIRs, no Marans.

I'm the one in Sanger near alice, I just hatched some marans from her eggs, they are about 6 weeks old now, so no egg eaters here. I hatched 6 and i got 5 roos. They are all at my house in town because I tore a leg muscle and haven't been able to build the new pen at my sisters like I was planning.
