That's ok. I could see that you were busy.

I was told that Tim Bowles has a strain of SGDs. I tried calling his number listed in the APA, but he never answered the phone. Do you know him or have an email for him?

Many of these long time breeders won't talk to me, maybe they don't think I'm a serious breeder.

Thanks,
Kim

Hi Kim,

I don't think he ignored you because of your seriousness. I did a quick search and found a thing that said Tim Bowles works with Dick Hortsman. I contacted Dick last month and he said he did not have and SG Dorkings this year. I asked him if he knew where I could find some SQ Silver Dorkings he said no, he wished he could find some for himself. If Tim had any, he would get them from him.

So, I think Tim does not have any and did not contact you because he could not help you. My guess is he may have the blues because it appears there is a lack of SQ Silver Gray Dorkings now. Maybe it is time for someone to import good ones from Brittan. Keep working on yours--you may be one of the few breeders left working on them.

I have a FBCM hen who always lays the biggest, roundest, darkest egg of anyone. Today she laid her first egg after a to long for me, break. It's no where near round, not very dark yet, but man! My oor bird!

My phone takes horrible pics the past couple of months, so it looks MUCH lighter than it is, but in no way is it what she usually lays. But this is her first this year, so they should get darker. Be nice if they all come out this big.
Guess which one!

Anyone have kids doing showmanship that would want some of my bantams? I'll put ics in hopefully later today, but for sure have 2 GL Cochins pullets. I was going to cross them with my Partridge Silkie roo, but I'm going to be listing some bantams over the next week or so, so let me know.

I had just heard that too. Tim is a very busy guy and I don't find an email address for him. I will send you a PM with an idea.

OK I posted a link for help, but no replys. I can just use a cheap kitchen scale to weigh eggs out right?

I wasn't too sure I was going to get anything out of my hatch. I have eggs from 2 breeders in there. Nothing was going on at all and then yesterday the first chick was out. A fat little FBCM that looks like it's gonna have an early comb, which is fine with me. You know me and roosters.

Oh well. Then I had more eggs to add to lockdown and I didn't have room anywhere but that hatcher. Nothing else had hatched or even pipped. Added more water and the other eggs and heard a peep. Tiny little pip was on one egg, so being the toucher that I am I helped it. Thick white membrane was all I saw, so I knew. I grabbed it out and helped it finish. It was totally shrink wrapped and otherwise fine. Stuck it back in to let it finish by itself and it's out drying, but it's hidden behind a carton. I can tell it it's splash or wheaten at this point. This order had all three, but from what I can see I think it's a wheaten. I'm really worried I have more shrink wrapped in there, but I don't want to take any more out, so instead I'm counting on my insomnia to be in effect tonight so I can keep pressing my nose to the bator. Now if some blues hatch out that would be cool. Oh and I need a few more FBCMs for myself too.
