I'll try and get a pick of his today. He's a pain but didn't use to be when we carried him around all the time. I do put him up at night and like today, he's not out yet. He's my lead crower.
So my trip was kind of crazy. I also had to just keep going due to slow traffic in spots, so I was also at
Walmart. I had to grab flowers. The sun was almost down and that's when they close the cemetery. I was rushing like Charlton Heston in the Omega Man to beat the sun. LOL We got there and there was a whole 3 other people there getting ready to leave.
Walmart had no birthday balloons at all. The store I usually go to was closed, so I figured I'd just stop there a get one. Nope. But he has a Valentine balloon at least. I had wanted to get both. I left him his Reese's too. I forgot I had taken the scissors and clippers out of the trunk and had to break off stems. I've never been able to break those clean or quick, but I sure did yesterday. We always leave a flag out and Makayla wasn't there, so I had to remember to grab one of those out. It was dreary out there last night. Dakotah said he was creeped out. It was a little weird. I've never been there and felt that way. Plus they had watered and it was soggy.
When I started the car to leave the radio was on and "Free Falling" Came one, so since no one was out there I turned it up. Dakotah got on my, but I told him if I woke everyone up, That was fine. They're all missed and could go home. We always drive in to where the POW flags are and circle and man has that place grown. They have more drives through there now. Bill is in section 3 and I think they are on section 12? now. All that in 18 months. Amazing and sad. We got to the gate and some funky song came on and Dakotah changed the station and the song I used to use as a ring tone for when Bill called came on. I guess he knew I was there, cause after that and all the way home after we left Travis, his songs and songs that reminded me of him played almost the whole way home.
The Exchange has really changed. I'm trying to figure out where a whole section went. It's the same through the main mall hall where all the small shops are, but inside the Exchange itself there's a whole room missing where the furniture used to be and new patched drywall. Hope they didn't seal up the customers they didn't like. That place is usually so clean and they had carts everywhere, so I guess they're moving things around. For some reason it seems like they just didn't have as much stuff as they used to in some departments and a whole lot more in other sections. We were supposed to go buy a new TV the day Bill died. I went to just look at them, cause that's what I always do, but I've never been able to buy one. Especially not the oe he wanted. OUCH! But I ended up watching the end of "Unstoppable" while I was there. Man my TV is a dinosaur! LOL I could actually see faces and the wheels on the train and everything. ha ha Took the long way home through Sac since I can't see out on the shorter road and we got home just before midnight. I bought myself 2 resents. A car of compressed gas to clean my laptop and drill bits! LOL Yeah I'm easy.
