Call Duck Hatching Help

I'm going to put my call duck eggs in the hatcher tomorrow night and I've never hatched call ducks. I've hatched lots of other ducks but not call ducks. Do call ducks always need assistance to hatch? I don't want to wait too long so they die so I need to know if I will definitely need to assist. Thank you for any help!

Actually, I don't hatch calls. I am a runner duck girl, and all of mine are from a breeder. Sorry. I bet Miss Lydia knows; she knows everything about ducks!

Thank you! Do call ducks go 26 or 28 days? I have 5 eggs in lockdown today and I have 17 more due in 2 weeks. So this is a learning run but the ducks are important to me nevertheless.

Mine usually hatch closer to day 26. And I actually keep my temp on the higher side, around 100. I wouldn’t be overly concerned if they take longer.

I honestly think the biggest key is watching the internal pips. If they don’t externally pip within a day or so after internal, it seems those are the ones that need help.

No problem. Callender is actually the name of the closest town. And, the "girl" part was more accurate many, many years ago. But no one ever wrote a song called "Calendar Mature Woman," huh?
