Call duckling vs "Normal duckling" difference?

sometimes a person will get a singleton hatch it happens, if you were keeping it FOREVER as a singleton it would be bad, but you have other ducks for it later so it should be ok

call ducks take 26 days not 28 like other mallard derived species

Hi everyone, i would love to know the size difference between a call duckling and a "normal" duckling? (I would like to know what to expect!) I am incubating a Call duck egg and its on day twelve ! YAY !

( I candled it on day 8 and its fertilised)

ok sizes, you can have a variation in size whether it is show or pet quality

drakes are usually around 26oz, ducks 20 oz

and depending on what you mean by a 'normall duck there is a huge variation, are you talking pekin, mallard, rouen, etc

just google the breeds and compare

IMPORTANT!!!

also remember because of the drastic breeding on calls they have a hard time hatching, so be warned that your egg may not make it and if it gets to hatching be ready to assist

As far as your lone Duckling goes.....Hang a mirror and give it something to cuddle too...A fuzzy sock works great...Dont run to it every time it peeps or it will get too demanding....
Once it gets bigger take it out to meet the other Ducks with a fence to keep them apart......
