Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Pics
awesome!!!!

Thanks everyone!

I am so excited they are just so cute.

Mom is doing a really good job with taking care of them. Don't know if you can tell from the pictures but I sectioned her off from the rest of the flock so they would leave her alone.

Not sure when I might take them away from mom to put in brooder since she is doing such a good job. Just afraid with them outside pen is not to baby safe don't want anything to happen to them.

I have a dark gray, black bibbed, the one similar to her and a chicken who took over my white hens nest all sitting. It will be intresting to see how many will hatch of these. Can't wait to see what the chicken hatches if anything! She is just a normal red-sexlink...

SO I have been missing one of my Call duck mommies for quite some time, we have had a problem with a Fox and Racoons in the area. I figured something got her since the last time I saw her, she flew into the woods..

Well today she decides to show up out of the blues, Here she is: YES, SHE BROUGHT SEVEN BABIES HOME WITH HER. LOL

I have hatched over 100 eggs from my show calls.....don't use an egg turner. turn them by hand 3 x a day.....and I do not mist the eggs until they pip. twice a day. sometimes they pip around the egg but don't rip through the membrane so I will help them out. I raise my ducklings on wire after 3 days...they play in the water fountains so much that they will swamp up their bin in a day, on wire they stay dry. In groups of 6 or more I give them heat this time of year only for a week.....
That's good if your way works for you and my way seems to work perfectly for me. To different ways and yet same results.. LOL..

surprise! lol had to be easier than incubation tho....lol congrats on the surprise hatch! mine are doing great....growing and stinking and all that duck jazz....crazy about them tho....they all are sweet and friendly and love to eat crushed peas out of our hands....they are outgrowing the brooder tub really fast tho and i'm not sure what i will do after that....cage in the house prolly....i will be glad when they can go outside at night!!!
