Call Ducks Finally Hatched

LOL. My calls haven't laid in 2 days. I think it's because of all this nasty weather. 1 of them built another nest under the coop again but nothing in it. My 2 polish that were laying didn't lay today either. It's raining again for the 2nd time today. On a good note though... I got my first blue egg today from 1 of my EE girls. I now have 2 that lay green eggs (1 mint green & 1 olive green), 1 that lays a tan egg and 1 that lays a blue egg. Just waiting to see what color the other 2 are going to lay. I have them in with 2 pure Wheaten Ameraucanas so once the boys are old enough (17 weeks old now) I will hatch out a few of their offspring from the blue and mint green eggs to see if I can get a couple more blue egg layers for the fall.

Awsome! It is best to let the hens hatch the mandarin eggs. Although you can take 1 clutch, and they should lay another. I will find out. But a trade for magpie would be awsome. I sent peach some eggs with much care, if they make it ok it might be ok to send eggs.

I would love to if you're willing. I don't have any magpies old enough to lay right now though. Have a penciled pair and a blue penciled pair that should start laying soon and buff and silver apricot pairs that are just starting to lay. I have 5 of their eggs in the incubator now and 2 more waiting to go in. I only have 1 blue magpie drake and he's only about 10 wks old now so won't be ready to start mating until the summer.

It will be a while before they have eggs. We can figure it out then.

Two more eggs today in two different nests!! Total of 5 eggs now.

Question: if an egg is green, will that mean that duck will always lay green eggs?

I got a green egg today!

As far as I know, if they lay green, they always lay green. Just like chickens. They always lay the same colored egg, the tint might change a little, a little lighter or a little darker at different times, but still always green. 1 of mine lays green too but not sure which is which. Think it's the buff that lays white and the silver apricot that lays green but could have them backward.

Woohoo! That means that all 3 of my girls are laying. I got 2 eggs today and one was green. I got 2 two days ago and neither was green.

Sounds good. How are the ribs doing? Any more dare devil adventures? Lol

The ribs are much better now. I am training my colt now, he has a very gentle spirit. He hasent even tried to throw me. I am working with my daughter on desencitating a mustang. Nothing dare devil yet.

I ran an air line into my bater from a fish air pump. The babies are much more active in development. Monday will tell if it worked.:fl
