Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Holderread has a couple pairs!!! Blue butterscotch, green head chestnut, or blue head chestnut???

Has anyone heard of those last two? I can't find pictures. Trying to decide if I should get the blue butterscotch or 1 of the other two!

REMEMBER calls have those little beaks and small necks, unless he's been trying for over 24 hours and it's been past his due date, got to get that safe hole going and be ready to assist..  Sometimes Calls can't make it out on there own.. and they will give up.  Sadly they do that's when you need to step in and help..

Yes, they were both calls. They both pipped internally to start and then started to zip around the shell to come out. They both had the top part of the shell 1/2 zipped off and then quit. I never heard them making any noise but the incubator is in my bedroom which is also occupied by 18 chicks between the ages of 1 wk and 6 wks old at the moment so it's possible that I just didn't hear them. I could see the eggs shaking and them zipping though. I know calls need help sometimes but I never expected to half to help when they were already zipping. I will with the one that's due next weekend though.

I would be right there when they start to zip, actually as soon as they zip, you can safely remove the top part of there shell, by then they should be fully absorbed, if they weren't they wouldn't be zipping..

Did they have little tiny beaks?

I try not to use UK colors. The US color for silver Appleyard actually looks like the silver appleyards, the breed. I cannot find any pictures of the blue butterscotch. They will throw 25% regular butterscotch though.
