Call Ducks Finally Hatched

So is the turner shifting them side to side but the eggs are in an upright position? or are the eggs laying completely flat? trying to picture your auto turning them from the side. If they are in an upright position and your turner is shifting them side to side, you may want to consider laying them down. Duck eggs do 110% better when they are completely laid down. Try taping them to the turner, if you go to my website click on the Duck tab, then method 2 you will see how I have taped mine to the turner. Much better hatching rate if they are flat, I haven't quite figured out why this is, I can only give my theory of they are bigger and this gives them more room to grow when having them up right confines them some what..

Cabnet hatching trays? They are kinda different. It's like a tray with slats on the side to put in dividers. I put the chicken eggs air cell up, but read that duck eggs do better on their sides.

So they are flat? Ok, then the only issue could be your readings. everything else seems fine. Just for the fun of it try putting a different gage in there and see if you get the same readings. If so, then you can at least narrow down, that questionable part..

If your gages all match, then the issue would have to be those eggs, how old are they? you said you got them from you mom, is she close to you or did she ship them to you? If shipped, then that's another WHOLE new ball game.. LOL if she's close, were they careful placed in a carton with the big end up until you go them home? Did you candle them once they got home for any that may have gotten loose air cell on the trip..

Yeah, they are flat. I guess I could buy some more gauges. How humbling this is. I thought I could hatch anything. I've hatched pea chicks, guinea, quail, lots of chickens. Imma have to tip my hat to you guys. These eggs weren't even shipped.

Dianne is my mom. The eggs were driven down the street about 2 miles :(

Well I would definitely check those gages and then tell your mom, you only want FRESH eggs, if she can't catch them coming out of the ducks vent, then you don't want them. LOL LMAO. This way you can be FOR SURE they are duck eggs and NOT chickens and THEN they should NOT quit on you.. LOL..
