Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Ok jog my mind again. How long do you incbate call duck eggs? How long for mandies? An how old?
I have 10 call eggs an a Mandrain egg under a cochin hen. How do you keep the humity how towards the end.
I will take all advise I can get.

Terrel

Call ducks are usually 26 days.

Looks like Mandies take a little longer. 30 days.
What do you mean How OLD?
If your allowing your chicken to lay on them, you can't control the humidity.

You will need to watch because if BY chance they hatch, she may reject them.

Thanks . I am not sure why I write 'how old'. Could/should I dip the eggs in water towards the end?
I am planning on brooding them myself.

Why would you want to do that? Your only going to cause that water from getting inside that shell, causing either stickiness or possibly drown them.

OH I SEE OUR GOOD FRIEND DIANNE IS BACK. Hay Dianne, good job on the pay backs with your daughter. LOL. we were coming up with a plan to get you back until...... we've discovered a whole new world from you.

Did you enjoy reading all these to try and catch up??? LOL

You see you have TWO DOWNFALLS with letting a chicken hatch them

1. if she is a first timer, chances are she is NOT going to sit on those eggs for that amount of time.
2. She may reject them once they are born. My hen looked at my calls and peck the crap out of them, she was like "OH MAN, a deformed hatching". and tried to keep them away from her.

You aren't going to be able to control the humidity, or temp with her. So your best bet is to leave them alone but be prepared, in case she decides to quit or rejects them......

Some hens make GREAT chicken duck mommies..
