Call Ducks Finally Hatched

My hoverbator inkie wigged out with all the crazy weather we have been having, went too low, then too high, and all my eggs are gone

I threw it out the window!

I picked up this lab incubator which keeps an exact temp. regardless of the weather. I put two egg turners in, and ran a line in from the fish pump (fresh air). I put a narrow container in with purified water, and it is steady at 30% humidity. Does anyone see anything I am missing? Arg!!! I thought I finally had it right.

Maybe I should switch to chickens.

I think I am getting a real problem here! Not only I more determined to hatch those ducks, Now I am going to build a pen and raise Orphingtons! All my banti eggs are are going in my new inkie to! I am going to have to convert the side pasture into another aviary. OMG I have the disease full on now. Some enabler taught me to hatch these things, after I had some success, and then a big failure, I am much more determined than before.

I think I am going to have to find some kind of support group.

So.... I have officially started my own meal worm farm with the birth of my 1st 4 beetles today (about 200+ more pupa in there still) and already have my black soldier fly larvae farm going since last year. The chickies just love them. Also went out and bought 70 guppies today to try my hand at breeding them myself for the ducks. Hopefully will be more cost effective :)

Me too on the mealworms. Got about 100 Beatles :hmm

Let me know how the guppy "farm" goes! That's a good idea. I think I faintly remember doing that as a child, but the adults kept eating the babies? Or maybe that was my Molly's....hmmm. Lol

Guppies give live birth so after birth the babies can be separated from the adults or kept in a baby net until they're a little bigger.

Do your calls eat the mealworms? I only tried it twice, but mine didn't seem to eat the soldier fly worms. I mix them with their bowl of veggies and the worms would still be left in the tray

Yeah so do the Molly's. I remember watching babies pop out and the fish immediately eating them. Can't remember which ones did that though, I'm thinking it was the Molly's and the guppies did OK...
