When or should I make a safe hole? I have 10 eggs in lockdown. Yesterday was day 25. On day 24, 2 were internally pipped. I have not opened to candle yet but the eggs were extremely active yesterday but have not wiggled much at all today.

I made a safe hole because I didn't think they moved much either.. I am sure the others will tell you

Candle them and see if they are still moving. I safe hole 24 hours after internal pip.

Just a small hole at the top of the air cells or closer to the side?

I do mine near the beak. As long as its in the air cell space you're ok. When I first did safe holes, I did them directly in the middle so there was no way Id hit anything.

How long can ducks stay in the bator after hatching? I am thinking of leaving them in for 24 hours so they can come away from the shell fully and fluff up.. Is that ok?
