I was referring to Angovem's specifically, something in which you have yourself personally made many disparaging statements towards. You have an opinion, and I have mine. I see no point in continuing to poke fun at others for having one. I fail to see what can be accomplished by both you and Amanda ganging up on people like myself and 18Angovem for disagreeing when we both have equally valid, if not contradictory, evidence to back those opinions up.

As for the type of bator, I use an Rcom, it's never steered me wrong. All three eggs currently in it are developing very nicely, as did all three from last year's hatch. So did the three chicken eggs I helped hatch for a friend last year. On the other hand, the three eggs in my styrofoam bator died. Just like the five eggs I had two years ago all died. That's what preempted me to buy the more expensive Rcom in the first place. That's why I do not trust still-air styrofoam bators. That is merely my experience. I don't really see why that has to be a point of contention in this thread.

@Amykins I'm not ganging up on you or anyone! I'm so sorry if you felt I was! That wasn't my intention at all. I, too, just wanted my personal opinion heard by everyone. After all, everyone is entitled to their own. Again, so sorry you felt that I was ganging up on you. Can we call it a truce? :)

I have to agree, it wasn't an intent to "gang" up, like I said before, I think the choice of bator's is based on preference, I and Amanda have a preference of Syrofoam, We still manage to have the same results as you might have which is hatching out babies.

That's the WHOLE concept. As far as 18angovem is it clear what is going on there. He's having a sticky issue, sticky issues are caused by
1. High humiidty
2. low temp
3. Inadequate Ventilation
4. Improper Fumigation - meaning inproperly cleaning of the bator..

If you trouble shoot and reduce the chances of any or all of the four listed, your hatching should be 10 times better. Then you can narrow down what the main issue is that's causing a sticky issue and be aware for future hatchings by making adjustments.

Now, I just checked my 10 eggs last night and GUESS what, I lost two of them WHY, STICKY issue. I know what your thinking, LORI you told us you didn't put any water in that bator. AND YOUR RIGHT. I didn't but in my case, the humidity didn't cause my sticky issue it was my TEMP.

You see last week or so, I had unplugged my bator, I do this everytime I candle, well I forgot to plug the thing back in. well my bator was OFF for about 6 to 8 hours before I realized I had done this. GRRRRR..

So there's a fine example of user ERROR a costly one too because one of the babies, was a ALL WHITE. OMG, I have never seen such a pretty white baby, usually the white ones will be yellow and feather out white, not this little guy he was completely white no yellow at all.

@Lacrystol I hate that you lost two :( That little white baby sounded BEAUtiful. How did you know it was white and not yellow? Could you see through the egg? Also, why do you unplug the incubator when candling? Is it beneficial?

I unplug it to shut off the fan, you see when I candle I do all of them not just one and put the top on then take it off do another. SO I unplug it, take the top off, candle all my eggs, then put the top back on. But that doesn't do any good if you forget to plug the darn thing back in..

He was as white as the snow. I opened him up, I didn't see any movements, so I opened him to see what the issue was and sure enough, MAJOR STICKY. This guy didn't have a chance it was soooo bad. But he was white, if I stuck him out into the snow, you would NOT be able to find him, that's how white he was..
