Call Ducks Finally Hatched

lol... she does have older bodyguards... if she lets them close to her... we were worried the bigs would harass the littles, but they love them... littles are scared of them though... we have 2 mallard juvies right now too, baby grey tries to eat them though...

This is the 1st time the littles stayed in the pool when the bigs slipped in...

Bigs and littles floating in the pool together. Beautiful coloring in the bigs.

So I finally figured out why my calls don't seem as noisy as everyone keeps talking about...

I have a gorgeous group of ALL boys!! lol... every one I hatched from my first batch are beautiful drakes... :D

My 16 call eggs are due to hatch the 30th and i have to go out of town for a funeral and be gone the 26th through the 30th. I've decided to let them hatch in the turner, do you think if i have my wife add a small bowl of water on the 28th and unplug the turner that would work out? She really wants nothing much to do with my ducks, but i think she'd at least do that much. I discovered last hatch that my incubator fan is so tiny and turns so slow that the temperature is a couple of degrees lower on the bottom screen; thus my reasoning for letting them hatch in the turner, the temperature will be stable.

Got home last night, took them out of the turner (which was turned off on the 26th) and put them on their sides on the screen, humidity was raised to 60% on the 26th also.
I can hear some egg pipping going on, and heard a little peep in there when talking to the eggs, giving them some encouragement. Hopefully some will hatch.

This is the only egg in there that has pipped through the shell, hopefully more to follow, I'm trying not to interfere, temp at 100 degrees, humidity at 60degrees, if this one isn't out by himself, at some point will try to help. This is day 26.
