Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Okay thank you that last part is what I needed to know.

The males default is he doesn't have enough coloring.

The two females default is they have too much. BUT the two females have two things that ARE hard to get for this breed, the Beatle green sheen AND color on the chest. So if I can breed them, get the Beatle green sheen, color on chest AND more diluted color then BOOM I have breeder quality.

That is correct!!! You just breed there defaults right out of them....

Here's one

And another. I think I'm being paranoid. It looks like the first picture has internally pipped.[/quote]

OMG THEY ARE COMING, YOUR RIGHT LOOK LIKE THE FIRST ONE HAS BROKEN THROUGH THE FIRST STAGE OF EXSCAPING FROM JAIL. GO LITTLE GUY GOOO. THE SECOND ONE IS GOT A LITTLE WAY YET...

So even though they are better marked it'll still be like having the ducks I already have because they carry the same genetics? Is that correct?

It's all going to depend on what they throw off but basically yeh same genetic. You could end up with the baby throwing off the parents default even though the baby doesn't have that default...because it's in his gene but then you could end up that baby throwing off excellent quality or show quality..

You just don't know until you give it a shot, kind of like me and my experimenting with hatching ducks. You give it a shot if it works great if not you move on..

Okay cool totally got it now. LOL.

One more thing, you may need an outsider someone from a different flock with a minor default and breed that one with yours to breed the defaults out of them... Keep that in mind as well..
