You have to be able to show where all your ducks and eggs came from so they can be sure you didn't take them from the wild. A receipt basically. All receipts have to dated, have full name and address of the person you bought them from (if within FL must also have their license #), and must show full detail of exactly what you bought. Same with any you sell. Must have documentation of name, address, license # of the buyer, date and details of what was sold.

Oh well it'll probably take longer than that then. I don't even have my pens built. We were supposed to do it last weekend but the post hole digger for our new tractor won't be in until mid-December. Ugh.

Ill have to check my Paypal statements and ebay to find the receipts.

Ouch. Technically you're supposed to have a license before the ducks. They're pretty strict on the ducks being completely enclosed. Do you have a barn or porch or something you can house them in until they inspect? I think the fine is pretty hefty.

They are in our fenced in yard which is completely enclosed. They can go fine the lady that sold to me without telling me I needed a license.

I should be fine, I called and asked the lady at the Florida fish and wildlife and she said to just apply for the license and I'd be fine.

They want their money so I highly doubt they'll try fining me.

I hope not. It's not someone else's responsibility to educate you on what's required though. You'd think people would want to make sure the animal's new owner is educated but most just want their money. Plus not all states require a license so if she's not in FL she may not have known. They have to be completely fenced in though meaning overhead too. Not just a fenced yard. Sometimes the inspectors can be jerks but hopefully you'll get a nice one that's willing to work with you and all will be ok. The one that was here was pretty nice.
