Call Ducks Finally Hatched

LOL awww that's great.  I had a couple of my get heads that big, it's seems to happen when they are inside, instead of using there beaks they use the top of there heads to try and get out.  Pushing on the shell with there heads will cause that swelling.  But it does go down.. Good to see she's doing better...

Is that a FAKE Momma duck in there???  LOL..

It is a friend, because it is drake colored. I dont think the babies can tell though. The ducklings and chicks all love it. I put it under the heat lamp, so it is nice and warm. :)

Have you given asprin to a duckling? I will remember that. I always havee baby asprin on hand. I did give her the vitimins though. I tried doing the vent sexing. Lil dick is a boy and lucky and Daizy are girls. Mabe.

Yes I have, I had to melt it in water and of course Ducks with Water. NOT A PROBLEM. of course they do that head shaken thing but that's OK as long as they get some in them. Baby Asprin is Mild and won't upset there little tummies like Tylon or Excederin would

If you would like I could send you a few eggs within the next couple of weeks. Depending on if they lay, and they don't freeze before I find them.

I can walk you through assiting if you need it.
(I did not hatch any calls last year ) but the year before I hatched around 90 ducklings and every single one was assisted because of a very wonky year for hatching (all around the country). this year I hope the hatches go smoother.

Thanks for your kind advice and offer of help. It is nice to know you can get help in an emergancy. If you need assistance in a way I could help you can count on me too. This is my first sucessfull duckling hatch. I do know alot about pet and farm animal doctoring. Since I live out in the middle of nowhere it is a good skill. I sutured up my daughters dog after it was attacked by dobermens, and her vet only wanted to put him down. He is alive and well 4 years later with.a few scars. Ducks are so much diffrent though.
Thanks again.

Also, I have two eggs from Diane that are developing!!!

One was cracked on arrival but was not leaking. I put Elmer's glue on it and let it dry before putting it in the bator. It is one of the two that is developing. I have had a patched up egg hatch before, but it was a welsh harlequin, cross your fingers for me this baby survives!!
