Call Ducks Finally Hatched

No, I was kinda hoping rattler I guess? He had no marks, eyes clear, mouth clear, he was a good weight, no blood, no messy vent or anything....so was just trying to think of logical alternatives.

Either way I freaked and cleaned everything as best I could in case it was something he ingested. Hated losing him.

By the way I'm confusing Tweek. It wasn't Tweek, Tweek is a girl. It was the spotted male I got from you that we originally thought was a girl. Either way, very sad to lose him. I hope I don't lose any hatchlings. Have 7, and tomorrow is day 27. Three seem to be zipping, so tonight is going to be a LONG night.

Everyone has there safe holes?? LOL

Sometimes people think they know it all but then make a costly stupid mistake.

That would be meeee.

I couldn't figure out why the humidity is going hay wires and temp going crazy and fan getting ready to quit. until I further looked.

Last time I cleaned my bator and put everything back together, STUPID ME PUT THE FAN ON UPSIDE DOWN. OMG ARE YOU KIDDING MEE.

I can help with rescuing a duck but can't put a bator BACK TOGETHER, ARE YOU KIDDING ME....

Talk about idiot..goes to show I'm not mechanically inclined....

So put me on the stupid list, now to hope these guys can make it out ok. I can see I already have a sticky problem. Grrrrrrrr

Nine in there my challenge is on!!!!

I wouldn't kill the snakes you find unless you want to have a vermin problem. But if it was a rattlesnake, I'm fairly confident that you would not have found the chick at all.

I'm really sorry for your loss. Sometimes the little ones just don't make it for one reason or another, that's why most prey birds are so prolific.
When I am out hiking I catch gopher snakes and bring them home. They love mice! I am all talk on stomping snakes though. I caught a rattle snake in my yard, add I relocated to a nice place, miles away. of course, unharmed.
