Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Not yet, and I'm driving myself insane staring at it! It pipped externally yesterday, but didn't break through. Nothing has changed today :( but it's still dancing and shaking in there!

24 hours after the internal pip you can make a safe hole in the air sac so it won't run out of air. A very small hole, with a needle. Be carefull not to hit the chick. Then wait some more.

YOU ARE EXTREMELY LUCKY, once they bust a main vein, it's usually the end.  So you are EXTREMELY luck!!!  GOOD JOB.  It's probably why he's so weak, he didn't get all the blood that he needs.  Give him those vitamins..

I knew by the amount if blood pooling that it was bad. I'm glad I have some college anatomy and physiology and some biology under my belt. For sure it helped me. He seems to be doing much better than the other though. The other is very, very weak.

They are just so sweet! Doing very well I think.

So to solve my Fox problem, My son threw TWO options at me. LOL,

First he said up in the loft, we have, GROSE, and I didn't know this, we have Fox urine. LOL. Not sure what I'm suppose to do with Fox urine??? Not sure how we got Fox urine HAHHAHA...

Then he said your second option is will wait for him by the coop and when he comes, l' ll shoot him in the leg. Then you can heal him back to health and we can make him our pet so that he doesn't get any more of the ducks/

LOL, What a smart kid I have?? I wonder what option would actually work???

Sorry about your ducks, I'll share what fox info I know. They don't only hunt at night so there isn't really a safe time. They grab and run so you won't find feathers. I think I found 'A' feather when one of my girls was grabbed. They are very territorial. That's what the fox urine is for. Trick them into thinking someone else has taken over their space. We found the den when we had them around. I sent my son back to pee on their den everyday and they moved in about two weeks. The danger is if they move, someone else may move in. I'm not sure what your laws are but we can shoot anything after our animals whether in season or not, so shoot him. When litter time comes the need for food will go up and he knows where you are. If you don't want to shoot him there is likely a predator hunter around that would be happy to do it for you. I love watching fox, they really help with the voles and I hate shooting them but when they start thinking of your birds as their food source there isn't much else you can do.

The problem with this fox, HE's been here longer then my animals. GRRR so he is SET in his ways. He did NOT come around yesterday, so that tells me he enjoyed a meal on me. TWO meals because I counted 11 ducks last night.

So If I spread the Fox Urine around my coops and yard, that should Lear him away?? OMG, you want me to play with fox pee. LOL I WILL IF IT WILL PROTECT MY KIDS..

I may lock them up for a while in one of the 9 coops the only problem I have with my coops they are made for the chickens so there's not a lot of room for the Ducks and I'm afraid they will stress out going from Free ranging to Confined.

What do you guys think?

OMG. HE IS SOO CUTE, what am I talking about. LOL This:

He hatched out yesterday, this is one of Tammy's babies. I'm IN LOVE, I asked my husband for a divorce, now that my true love is here. He is a LONER.. He's brother/sister did not make, never internally pipped and was not fully absorbed..

AND I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING. OMG, LORI HAS A LONER HE'S GOING TO DIE OF LONELINESS. DON'T WORRY I HAVE MY BASES COVERED.

YES, WE FOUND THE THREE LEGGED BUNNY!!!
