I have a home made incubator and 2 styrofoam incubators that I use for hatching. Getting ready to make an even bigger incubator that should hold around 300 eggs.

It doesn't matter what time, Time has nothing to do with hatching. Have you ever seen a duck look at her watch? NOPE, ducks go by days not time.. That's so silly..
So call ducks hatch sooner than other ducks? I thought 28 was average for most ducks, excepting muscovies being longer. Glad to learn that, in case I ever try calls.
Okay, good news and bad news...the good news is, all 3 of the eggs in the Rcom mini are developing! The bad news is, while I was out, there was a temp spike in the backup bator...there was only one fertile egg that I knew of in there, but I can't find the embryo in that one anymore. I'm giving it two more days until I toss it, but I'm pretty sure it's gone. God, why did I have to run errands today? UGH, I'm so mad at myself right now! It was fine before I left...I should have stayed home. I monitor the temps like a hawk when I'm home.
I have three thermometers in there, two read 105 and another 108! I think it's safe to say they're cooked. I'm just hanging onto them for a couple more days out of blind hope or outright denial, I guess.
Hey, I have a still air styrofoam bator and it got me a 92% hatch rate with my Mallards in the Fall. I understand Calls are more difficult but I still have hope I can hatch mine out with it. It hasn't let me down yet. I try to always be hopeful.
What is a good incubator to buy if I don't want to spend a fortune?
I think I may have hubby convinced to try incubating some next year.
I'd say eleven out of twelve is wonderful.
They were all shipped Mallard eggs as well.
Nice. The Brinsea was the one I had on my wishlist, along with this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001O4L9LK...TF8&colid=3Q05GTM60N3L0&coliid=I344HQZVS9I7QW
Are they any good?
