Call Ducks Finally Hatched

So, how long do ducklings have after internally pipping before something needs to be done for them externally? I just want to be prepared for my little ones. Praying they remain healthy.

Wait ONE day after the due date and make them a safe hole.

Hey Lacry, is there any way to tell if a 'ling is backwards or not until hatching day?

Usually you can tell, you'll see his big butt pushing at the air cell instead of the beak.

we actualy had a few uscovys hatch backwards they just broke out of the top to breath instead of the air cell, they are still alive and living great

Yeah, but those are scovies, the Arnold Schwarzeneggers of the duck world! I'm hatching calls, so if one IS breach, then I'll have a very stressful weekend ahead of me ;;

youll be fine if they are the wrong way you can soo still hatch them amy youre a great helper

Once they break the shell, they do very well except calls, they have a hard time getting out in the first place so being backwards makes it more challenging.

Just remember 4 days before lockdown stop turning them and make sure the larger end is slightly higher then the smaller end.

then ON lockdown day, Lock them down but keep them in that same position
