Call Ducks Finally Hatched

If it's a call duck egg on day 22 it should be going into lock down tomorrow as they hatch on day 26

They army call ducks, it's a Cayuga, I think with a mallard ? I'm not sure!!

ALRIGHT, keep an eye on the Air cell, if it starts dipping then you can lock them down.

He is in with 11 chicken eggs, so if he starts to hatch , I'm not sure what to do?? Any ideas!!

It might be a duckin. My duck Sat on a blue chicken egg and it looked shiney like a duck egg. If your temp is a little high they can come early. Or sometimes I mess my dates up.

No it's defiantly, a duck egg, because my ducks were separate when i got the 5 ( only one to be fertile!), and I put it in on the 25th of March and the chicken eggs in on the 1st of April, so they all should be hatching on the 22nd of April? But I do think my temperature was around 38.2 up until 3 days ago, I think my janoel is measuring to low, it said it was 37.5oC I had to bring it down to 37oC to get it to 37.5oC! Would that cause an early hatch?

Quote: These were eggs I bought so the parents were a mix of colors.
But I have a chocolate ancona female that I plan to mate with some of my whites and my blue penciled pied drake to see if I can get some chocolate babies.
If I had a chocolate drake I could mate him with my black ancona hens to get sex linked babies!

no, it will be OK, let him hatch the bonus part about him hatching early is he will get those chickens going, It will be like a dominos affect. Your worrying yourself over nothing and by nothing, I mean nothing is happening yet. LOL

If he hatches early it's a good thing..

remember even if he starts on Saturday he's not going to be out right away, unlike chickens ducks take a longer time. But I can't see him starting that early, although I did have a couple of mine externally hatching while STILL on the turner because they hatched three days early. Guess they got impatient. But I wouldn't worry in your case, stick with your due date, take them off the turner on Saturday, candle him, check to see his status, keep him off the turner, then Lock him down on Sunday..
